Law Enforcement Nabs 22 in Drug Bust

On December 12, 2013, Sheriff Neil Godfrey, Chief Bob Temme of the Southern Pines Police Department and Chief Tim Wenzel of the Aberdeen Police Department announce the arrest of several individuals for selling illegal drugs in Moore County. 

During the past year, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Southern Pines Police Department and Aberdeen Police Department have worked a joint undercover drug investigations throughout Moore County. Officers targeted drug dealers selling prescription pills, marijuana and cocaine in Aberdeen, Southern Pines, Vass, Cameron, Robbins, Eagle Springs and the Carthage areas of Moore County. 

Officers from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Southern Pines Police Department, Aberdeen Police Department, Pinehurst Police Department, Foxfire Police Department, Whispering Pines Police Department, and Carthage Police Department participated in making the arrests below. 

The following subjects have been arrested: 

Roger Kenneth Hardy, 50, of Carthage, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III, sell schedule III, deliver schedule III, (Hydrocodone) Prescription pills. Bond set at $10,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Terrence Latraile Harris, 27, of Southern Pines, charged with 2 counts possess with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, 2 counts sell cocaine, 2 counts deliver cocaine, 2 counts possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, 2 counts sell marijuana, 2 counts deliver marijuana. Bond set at $15,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

William Dale Davis, 29, of Aberdeen, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, sell schedule III and deliver schedule III (Codeine). Bond set at $10,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

James Lander McLeod, 29 of Southern Pines, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III, sell schedule III, deliver schedule III, (Lorcet pills). Bond set at $15,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Ricky Orlyn Ryan, 22 of Robbins, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II, sell schedule II (Percocet pills), conspiracy to sell/deliver schedule II and conspiracy to sell/deliver marijuana. Bond set at $25,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Kayly Elizabeth Maness, 27 of Robbins, charged with conspiracy to sell/deliver marijuana and conspiracy to sell/deliver schedule II (Percocet). Bond set at $25,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Michael Allen Copeland, 28 of Eagle Springs, charged with possess with/intent to sell/deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, and deliver marijuana. Bond set at $7,500 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Jarvis Terrell Smith, 28 of Aberdeen, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, sell schedule II, deliver schedule II (Endocet pills) and 3 counts of trafficking opium. Bond set at $75,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center 

Ivory Eugene Robinson, 31 of Vass, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II, sell schedule II (Oxycodone pills). Bond set at $25,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Venise Dawn Smith, 27 of Cameron, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, sell schedule II, deliver schedule II (Percocet pills). Bond set at $7,500 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Curtis Anthony Gaster, 28, of Cameron, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, sell schedule II, deliver schedule II (Endocet pills) Bond set at $10,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

William David Lane Jr. 53 of Cameron, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II, sell schedule II (Oxycodone pills). Bond set at $6,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center.

Sabrina Shantell Dowd, 23 of Cameron, charged with conspiracy to sell/deliver marijuana. Bond set at $10,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Stephen Lake Sherrill, 60 of Carthage, charged with 3 counts, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, 3 counts, sell schedule III, 3 counts deliver schedule III (Lorcet pills) 3 counts of trafficking opium, conspiracy to sell/deliver schedule III and conspiracy to traffick schedule III opium. Bond set at $85,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Crystal Lynn Marsh, 27 of Carthage, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, deliver schedule III, sell schedule III (Lorcet pills) and conspiracy to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance. Bond set at $10,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Robert Lorenzo Chisholm, 29 of Carthage, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, and deliver marijuana. Bond set at $5,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Travis Demar Smith, 30 of Carthage, charged with 2 counts possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, 2 counts sell marijuana, 2 counts deliver marijuana. Bond set at $7,500 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Danny Ray Lane, 52 of Cameron, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II, sell schedule II (Oxycodone pills). Bond set at $10,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Douglas Dwayne Whitaker, 52 of Vass, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II, sell schedule II (Oxycodone pills) and 3 counts of trafficking opium. Bond set at $30,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Paul Joseph Brown Jr. 42 of Vass, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II, sell schedule II (Oxycodone pills) and 4 counts of trafficking opium, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, sell schedule III, deliver schedule III (Lortab pills)and conspiracy to traffick opium. Bond set at $30,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Jimmy Lee Marsh, 29 of Carthage, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, sell schedule III, deliver schedule III (Lorcet pills) and conspiracy to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance. Bond set at $10,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

Nicholas Adam Simmons, 25, of Cameron, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II, sell schedule II, deliver schedule II (Opana pills), possess with intent to sell/deliver Marijuana, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell/deliver schedule IV, sell schedule IV, deliver schedule IV (Xanax pills). Bond set at $10,000 secure and placed in the Moore County Detention Center. 

In addition to the 22 arrests made, the joint arrest teams that were assembled made the following arrests in Southern Pines, NC for warrants or offenses committed in the officer’s presence. 

1. Thenell Ingram - Murray Hill Road Southern Pines, NC – Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 

2. Mitchell McNeill – Brookside Park Apartments, Richards Street Southern Pines, NC – Trespassing 

3. Erica Faulk - Brookside Park Apartments, Richards Street – Stalking and Communicating Threats 

4. Brandon Scott Deese – Murray Hill Road Southern Pines, NC – Trespassing 

5. Layla Brooks – Brookside Park Apartments, Richards Street Southern Pines, NC – Stalking 

6. Lovie Vample/Brooks – Brookside Park Apartments, Richards Street Southern Pines, NC – Possession of Stolen Goods and Failure to Appear 

7. Nikki Marie Pratt – Central Drive Southern Pines, NC - Financial Identity Fraud 

The Southern Pines Police would like to take this opportunity to thank the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Aberdeen Police Department, Pinehurst Police Department, Foxfire Police Department, Whispering Pines Police Department, and Carthage Police Department who participated in making these arrests along with the twenty two arrests previously announced this evening.Additional arrests are anticipated as a result of this joint investigation.
